Los Angeles, CA – July 20, 2015 – In partnership with Kaiser Permanente, TAO will be presented at the Emerging Tech exhibit at the Special Olympics. This very popular event will showcase 7000 athletes from 160 countries, and attendees will be able to try the TAO WellShell at the UCLA Pauley Pavilion on the opening and closing days of the event.

TAO WellShell is a Tiny Gym in Your Pocket™, allowing you to Take Exercise Anywhere™. A cell-phone sized device you press to perform isometric-based reps that work the core and combat the ill effect of too much sitting.

You can work out with the TAO WellShell at the office, on the plane, while watching the kids, anywhere. TAO was recently honored as one of the top 20 new Digital Health products in the world by Wired Magazine’s health expo in London, and named “Best New Fitness Gadget” by Popular Science in their current issue. Previously TAO was nominated for “Best of CES.” In keeping with the spirit of the games, visitors are invited to compete in TAO Sumo™ – a mobile videogame where two players compete to throw each other out of the Sumo ring. Whoever presses the hardest in the chosen exercise wins! You can see worthy competitors playing TAO Sumo™HERE:

Visitors can also use TAO to play their favorite mobile games such as JetPack JoyRide, Whales Trail, Canabalt, Ski Safari, and Borderlands, and many other games. You can see NFL Hall-of-Famer, Michael Strahan and Kelly Ripa playing mobile games with TAO on national TV HERE:

runnerKaiser is the Founding Champion and Official Health Partner for the Special Olympics. Several of Kaiser Permanente’s primary goals match those of the Special Olympics: Let’s embrace diversity; let’s combat obesity in both children and adults; and let’s strengthen community health. This is 100% aligned with TAO’s goals.
